June Catch Up

Owen w/Papa in Parent/Tot class

Audrey & Owen had swim lessons 4 days a week for the entire month of June. Owen did great in Parent/Tot and was ready to move up to "Tadpoles", where it was him, the instructor and 2 other kiddos. The 2 other kids were criers and screamers, so sometimes it was just O & one of the others. He did great in class, but when he was just with us he got pretty nervous and wouldn't do any of the stuff he learned. :o( Audrey has started to not do so well. She gets SOOO nervous when someone is not holding her. This is a big change from last summer when she would swim so well. She doesn't even want to go swimming at ALL anymore. Wish we could put her in swimming year round, but it's so expensive at the other places and the city only does them in the summer.

  • We had tickets to the Summer Movies and Owen did amazing at them! He and Audrey loved going to the movies with Mama and friends. It's a fun, cool thing to do here in the AZ summer.

  • I taught preschool summer camp for 2 weeks, so the kids came. We did a "Circus" them and a "Camping" theme. They had fun and Owen got to meet some friends that he now attends preschool with.
After the 1st day of summer camp!

  • Owen had a Parent/Tot "My 1st Sports Class" on Thursday mornings. He loved trying out all the different sports like basketball, soccer, baseball {t-ball}, and tennis. The last couple classes we did obstacle courses and he was pro at that! He seemed to be best at t-ball.

  • Audrey did a video/photo shoot for a company of a lady in our ward. I posted it on facebook, but if you haven't seen it you can check it out here: http://vintagerosewraps.com/watch.html. Audrey is in the "girly party" scene where the little girls are having a birthday tea party, playing ring around the rosy, lying in the grass, etc. The first clip you see her in is at about 13 or 14 seconds where she is whispering into a little blonde girl's ear. I had to watch it a couple times to spot her. She's wearing a light aqua shirt and very pale pink tutu w/a green headband and her hair in a ponytail.

  • We also had a fun trip to the AZ Museum for Youth {AMY} with some friends.

  • A not so fun thing was I had to have an MRI scan of my brain. I was starting to do some initial tests as it had been a year since we had be trying to get pregnant. I was found to have an extremely high level of a hormone called prolactin and with such a high amount they are worried that it could be a sign of a tumor on the pituitary gland {where that hormone is produced}. It was a bit scary, but luckily I'd had people explain to me what an MRI was like, so it made it a little easier. The worst part was not finding out the official results until almost a MONTH after I had it done. Everything came back fine, so that was good!

  • We ended June with the biggest event (pretty much of the whole summer) was the Giberson Family Reunion. It was here in Mesa, AZ this year. Yes, in the AZ summer! But we've braved it through the yucky humidity of Austin and Plano {outside Dallas}, so a dry heat was no problem! We had lots of game playing, eating, and chatting as we had a theme of "The Giberson Races". I'll do a more thorough post on the events and add pictures.

It's no wonder you haven't gotten around to blogging, with that schedule! Good post!
