Firsts

There have been a lot of "firsts" around here the past few weeks...
  • Owen has completed his first month out in the world!
  • Owen had his first bottle.
  • We took both kiddos out in public, to Costco. Before this it has just been to families' houses, or I just took Owen while Audrey was at school or a playdate, he's already been to the mall, Target, WalMart, etc.
  • I went to my first playdate with both kids at a friend's house.
  • Audrey & I walked Owen to our neighborhood playground.
  • Papa stayed at home with both kiddos by himself and commented that he was glad when I came home. :o) On Oct. 7th for half an hour while I ran to pick up a book at the library and for about two hours this past Sunday while I had lunch with some friends.
  • Audrey & I took Owen to the Zoo. It was my first time taking both kids out to a public place by myself...sort of, I had the help of friends.
  • I took BOTH kiddos with me shopping and SURVIVED without any breakdowns. From me or the kids. And I was all by myself with no friends to help.
  • Owen came with us to his first birthday party on the 13th. Happy 3rd Birthday to Declan!
  • Last night Owen slept for 6 hours straight, from 10pm til 4am. I don't know how much longer he would have slept because when I woke up and saw that it was 4am I freaked out. He didn't wake up for his 12/1am feeding. I woke him and fed him, so he only missed one feeding. I guess tonight we'll see if that was a one time thing!
  • Tomorrow Owen will go with us to his first official playdate with my moms' group. We're going to tour a candy factory in Glendale. Pictures to come!
A couple cute Audrey stories to share:
She is still doing really well with her new brother. She can be fo
und giving him lots of kisses, hugs and constantly says "He's so cute!"
A little issue we're having now is she wants him awake all the time. We're working on leaving him alone while he sleeps. She will try to sneak up to him and pretend that she is just going to sleep with him and then suddenly he's awake. When I remind her that he needs to sleep she says, "But I want him awake, Mama, I love him."
She also sat on the couch by me a couple evenings ago with the little Boppy pillow (came with a tummy time play mat) and her doll and fed her baby while I was feeding Owen. "Look Mama, my baby drink his milk too."
Last night she decided to have a little talk with Owen. She
looked at him and said in the sweetest voice, "Baby Owen, you came out of Mama's tummy. Good job!" I love catching her saying sweet things, as well as catching sweet sibling moments with the camera.

Hey lisa, I came here from Krista's website! You've done such a good job with posting all the photos and details here. Your kids will love reading it when they are older. Well done :)
