2 Weeks with 2 Kids

It's been two weeks since Owen joined our family. So far, things are going really well. Paul went back to work on the Tuesday after he was born, so I was on my own with two kids really soon. Audrey is busy with preschool and dance, and she's been having a few playdates--thanks to some wonderful friends and of course her Oma, Opa & favorite Aunties! So, Owen and I have been able to have time to ourselves. But I don't want Audrey to think I'm kicking her out, so I always ask her if she wants to do these things. As long as she's happy and excited about going somewhere without me, then I'm okay with it too. I think she's adjusting pretty well. She is really gentle with him and is always giving him kisses. A few days ago she came and sat by me while I was holding him. She looked at him and looked at me and said, "I love him." It was the sweetest thing ever! I didn't even tell her to say it!

Owen is a normal newborn...he cries when he needs to eat or needs to be changed. He usually does have one really fussy time a day/night where all he wants is someone to walk around with him. Paul usually takes this job...he remembers doing it with Audrey a lot too. At night I take care of all the feeding (of course since he's nursing) and diaper changing...Paul takes over if he gets one of his fussy moments during this time. Last night his fussy time was before we were going to bed, that was better than in the early hours of the morning for sure! He loves to be held and would sleep forever while you hold him! He doesn't really like to be awake and not have someone really close by, but I guess that's normal when you're used to being inside your Mama! I still can't get over how much he looks like Audrey and he pretty much seems to be like Audrey was as a newborn as well. Some differences are that he doesn't really care to be swaddled as much as Audrey did, and he sure doesn't like the pacifier as much as she did. He will use his hands to knock it right out of his mouth if you try to "trick" him with it. I have even seen him with his thumb and fingers in his mouth, and replace that with a pacifier whenever I can! People say I can't be lucky enough to have another good baby, so we'll see! Here are some pictures from the past two weeks:
She really did not want to hold him, she was nervous. This is the only quick shot we got......because this happened right after. Many people agree that Owen looks just like Audrey. But in case you needed more proof, here are some side by sides:

It looks like things are going well. I'm glad Audrey is adjusting to having a baby brother in the house. He really does look a lot like her.
