Audrey's Field Trip

Audrey's preschool had their first field trip of the school year. The theme for October is Pets & Halloween, so they went to Petco. The manager, a young guy with multiple piercings and spiky hair, was the tour guide. We were surprised this group of 3 & 4 year olds didn't have any comments on his looks! Anyhow, he was really great with the kids. He learned fast that this age group didn't really like to answer his questions, they just wanted to check out the various animals. They got to pet a guinea pig, ferret and rabbit. They also learned about the birds, fish and small reptiles. The big hit was when the manager fed crickets to a black scorpion, the kids loved to watch him try and get it and then eat it. Audrey really loved the crickets, good thing she didn't know they were all going to be someone's food, not pet. At the end of the tour the kids got coloring books and the moms got coupons! The manager said they were the best group of kids he'd had and he was surprised at how well they behaved for being so young, and that the older kids always drive him insane. We could come back anytime!

Not wanting me to take pictures.
