Audrey's Kindergarten Field Trips

On October 28th I got to help chaperone Audrey's 1st school field trip! Along with what seemed to be the rest of the schools in the Valley, we headed to Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek. I had a little group of 3 girls, which was an easy number to keep track of. Especially in their bright orange Kindergarten shirts. Even with just the 3 girls I wasn't able to take them to do everything they wanted, it was so crowded and lines were long.

They did ride the train,

and carousel,

slid down huge tube slides,

and the "LadyBug Swings" ride.


We stopped to see how tall everyone was before catching the pig races.

Before they headed back to school on the bus they each grabbed a pumpkin to take home from the pumpkin patch. It was a great experience except that Audrey was a little jealous that one of the girls keep holding my hand and really fighting for my attention. And one point Audrey said "She's MY mom and she is in charge of what we do!" Thinking of course that it meant I would pick whatever Audrey wanted to do and not her other friends. Girls.

Three weeks later I helped chaperone again as they headed to Rockin' R Ranch in Mesa. We listened to the owners perform some music, then went on a rotation of different activities:

Panning for gold,

roping--Audrey was SOOO good at this,

pumping water,

and touring the museum.

The kids also got to design their own brand. Audrey decided to go with "Rockin' A Ranch" since she loves to "rock"--her words. We then ate lunch and headed back to school.



Oh, when Audrey brought home her Kindergarten shirt I laughed at how huge it was! It fit me without stretching!
