On Oct. 22nd we used our Desert Botanical Garden Membership {that I got for FREE with Groupon referral bucks!!!} and went to their annual Pumpkin Festival. We strolled around the garden and then took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch where the kids could pick and decorate their own pumpkin.

This year I was really wanting to do a family theme for costumes. So many people do it and I LOVE it. Audrey was SET on being Rapunzel--and thankfully her friend Cameron already gave her the dress for her birthday. I was sure that it would be so easy to make a chameleon costume for Owen {in "Tangled" Rapunzel's best friend is a little chameleon named "Pascal"}. Then I could be Mother Gothel and Paul could be Flynn Ryder. Well, that didn't work out. Maybe next year??? In any case I saw this Thomas the Train candy bucket at the Halloween store and thought it would be perfect for Owen, who's obsessed with trains. Luckily I found a conductors outfit just in time. He LOVED it and looked so cute. You'll notice that in one picture he has a black goatee...it was frosting from a cupcake, but it looked perfect with his costume! Owen was REALLY into Halloween this year, and as I recall 2 yrs was about the time Audrey got into it as well. So it was really fun, however I did NOT like hearing "More candy, Mama, more treats?" every day for the next few weeks or so.
