Locks of Love

On July 19, 2005 I donated 12 inches of hair to the Locks of Love organization. They are a "public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis." When I heard about this it was the final push I needed to make a big change. I know it's just hair, but I'm used to having long hair. I was just nervous about what it would look like short.
Here's the results from that donation cut when I donated 12 inches:

I LOVED it and kept it short for about 3 years. Then my stylist moved to Portland. I found someone new and for the past 2 years have being growing it out and just trimming to keep it healthy. I always knew I would donate it again, but I was nervous since I didn't have the same stylist as before. I put it off basically all of 2010, it's been plenty long enough. FINALLY, I did it today. Just in time to finish out 2010. I donated about the same amount as the first time, 12 inches, but kept a bit more for me this time. This length is still "short" for me:

This salon actually kept my FOUR ponytails and is mailing them in for me. I just didn't ask them to take a picture of them, or me before. I need to get better about the before pictures.
Anyhow, I will probably keep it short for a year or two then start growing it out to donate again. (Truth be told, Paul likes my longer hair anyway.)

Your "look" doesn't really look all that different. It probably just feels very different on you and when you wash and brush it or put it up! At least you're donating what you had!
