Looks like Owen has really slowed down in the growth department. Look at those %! We were all very surprised that he didn't grow in length at all, and I was sure he'd be 20lbs by now for sure! He's still a big boy though. His 6-9 month clothes, like in the picture, fit him perfectly. Barely any room to grow. It's a good thing I didn't buy him many clothes and got a lot of donations from nice friends. He goes through clothes sooo fast! Guess he'll be wearing mostly 9-12 month Spring/Summer clothes very soon.
Owen is getting a lot better at sitting up unsupported. I still don't leave him alone on the floor without some pillows close by. Especially because he likes to try and reach for everything, no matter how far away they are and usually ends up on his tummy after doing so. This also means he doesn't like to lay down much. He'd much rather be up to see what's going on.
We broke out Audrey's old Fisher-Price booster seat, which is the best $25 ever spent. Audrey used it from 5 months until about 2 1/2. Now it's Owen's turn. He has been sitting in his Bumbo chair up until now, but since he's eating baby food 3 times a day we got the official seat out and strapped to the chair. Speaking of food, he has gone through all Stage 1 foods and now we're entering Stage 2. Carrots are really the only thing he doesn't seem to like so far. They also turn his cheeks red, probably just a slight allergic reaction, nothing major, but I've been avoiding them. He also didn't like bananas at first, but they seem to have grown on him. He is a GREAT eater. I don't imagine finding much he won't like.
Little O is a pretty happy guy. He is usually smiling and laughing in pictures. Most of his day is spent laughing at his big sister. He would be so bored without her! He is still VERY attached to me, which is hard because he isn't always pleased to stay home with Papa or be watched by someone else. If he's fussy, it's Mama that needs to rescue him. We definitely know the meaning of "Mama's Boy" around here! :o)
His hair is crazy and it definitely needs to be trimmed. He's got these crazy wing-type side burns, and some stragglers down in the back. I try to just hide them by combing the hair behind his ears, but it doesn't last long. He even has a tiny bit of a comb over thing going on. So, I'm planning to take him to a friend's house so she can do the trimming while I hold him. Too scared to do it myself! Waking up in the morning really shows off his crazy 'do!
And he can still nap most anywhere...
