Winter Break 2013 ~ Part 1

There is a tree lighting event at the Gilbert Civic Center every year and since it is within walking distance we decided to go this year.  They had a huge bounce house that looked like a snow globe, it was pretty cute and the kids had fun.

All bundled up!

On the walk home the kids decided to pull Papa in the wagon.

A cute company called Enchanted Entertainment put out a Groupon for a Holiday Magic event.  It was such a great deal and I knew Audrey would love it, so it was a Christmas present that she got a few days early.  We also went with a bunch of friends which made it even more special.

And of course a photo op with Santa.  I especially love that neither Audrey nor her friend Lauren had any Santa pictures.  They both have never wanted to, so happy they warmed up to the idea and went together because this picture is adorable!

We always like to see the Christmas lights at the Mesa Temple.

On Christmas Eve Paul's parents' neighborhood always puts out luminarias.  I snapped some photos of the kids helping Opa set them out.

For Christmas I tried out a craft I saw on Pinterest and I would have to say we actually nailed it!  In a good way!  I used floor wax and glitter to coat the inside of the clear ornaments, it worked so great.  Then used the kiddos fingers/hands for the pictures.  Owen's thumbs made the reindeer, Alison's hand made the Santa and Audrey's fingers made the snowmen.  They worked great and I would make them again!

We had a lovely Christmas as a family of 5!  Santa brought the kids some fun gifts, and I'm sure they enjoyed the ones received from others too.

The best picture I could get of kiddos in their Christmas Eve pjs.
I guess they were too excited about presents.
