End of the 2012-2013 School Year

Tuesday, May 21st, during the last week of school Audrey fell in PE and bumped her forehead.  Pretty bad.  So bad I had to come get her from school.  They really felt I should take her to be seen, she was a little out of it.  When I got there she had started to feel nauseous and on the way to the car, it got her.  The vomiting was not a good sign after a head bump.  I went to urgent care, although if I were thinking straighter (because you know I had the 2 other kids with me along with this vomiting child) I would have gone straight to the ER.  Since urgent care took my $50 co-pay, took one look at her and said that since she was throwing up she needed to get a CT scan.  So, $50 and 5 minutes later all 3 kids loaded up to head to the ER.  Luckily, Paul's parents lived right on the way from urgent care to the ER and I dropped the younger 2 off there.  On the way to the ER Audrey started to fall asleep and it was so scary, she was not very responsive to me.  We got there just in time as more vomiting came.  They rushed us ahead in the line at the ER, I was so glad.  She knew what had happened, she knew who everyone was and could answer all sorts of questions.  But she was just NOT herself, at all. She got a CT scan and then we waited for the results.  Here she is watching Disney channel as we waited.

I don't remember if this picture is before or after the results, but in any case the second she started to feel better and be herself, this is what she looked like.

The scan was clear and you could tell she was feeling TONS better just by looking at her. She had to drink something and see if she could keep it down before we could go home.  Then it took forever to get discharged.  The rest of the week we just watched for any signs.  She went for a follow up with her pediatrician on Thursday, 23rd after her last day of school.  Everything was normal!  Yay!  I have to say this makes the "Top 5 Scariest Moments" as a Mother...so far.

Glad things were ok so she could enjoy her last few days of 1st Grade!

Celebrating the last day of school with some friends with yummy Kei Lani Shave ice!

Owen finished up his first year  of preschool on May 22nd!  (I also ended my school year with my Little Owls' Twos' Class.)  I didn't get any pictures from the graduation/promotion ceremony, since I was in it and had to be with my class, but I might be able to find some from Paul or my sister-in-law and post later.

End of 1st year of preschool treat!  Iceberg!  Yummy!

While Audrey was on her last day of school, Owen, Alison & I headed over to a playdate with Owen's preschool class at a classmate's house.  The kids had a blast!  Owen tried slip and slide for the first time, and got brave once the other boys were trying it.

Now, on to summertime!

You must have been so worried! It's a very good think you took her straight in though...it could have been much, much worse!
