It's Officially Summertime!

Today was Audrey's last day of Kindergarten.  She is very proud of finishing her first year at "the big school".  She is soooo excited to finally be a "grader"...as is the term on the Kinder playground I guess!  I borrowed this cute before & after picture idea from ones I saw online. I'm glad the same outfit fit!  Although if you notice the skort {yes it has shorts under}, is definitely shorter!  She is finally growing taller, although she's still among the shortest in her class.  Which is okay, as she's among the youngest too, since her birthday is late July.  And you know, she really just looks older too.  Something in her face, or maybe it's because she decided a while back to grow out her bangs.  In any case, I can't believe she's done with Kinder and will graduate high school in 2024!!!

Her final report card was great!  All 3's {meets standard} and 4's {exceeds standard}.  She's reading really well and loves, loves, LOVES to write and draw.  Mrs. Fox always comments on what an artist she is and we have noticed how much she's progressed in that over the year.  Sometimes paying so much attention to drawing and coloring gets in the way of finishing her work, but she's worked on that as well.  You will find drawings and notes ALL over our house, posted by Miss Audrey!

After school we headed to Audrey's favorite treat spot, Swirl It Frozen Yogurt to celebrate.

What's on tap for the summer?  Well, so far...
  • We have tickets for Harkins Summer Movies, 1 movie a week for 10 weeks.
  • Signed up for the first 2 week session of swim lessons, starting out with a Parent/Tot class for Owen and hopefully get him to go on his own in another session.  Hopefully Audrey will pass the "Otters" level this year.  Last year was the first time she didn't move up any levels.
  • The first 2 weeks of June we'll be going to Summer Camp at Temple Emanuel Preschool. {I'm teaching so the kids will attend.}
  • Owen will have his first Parks & Rec class!  He'll be taking a Parent/Tot First Sports Class once a week through June & July.  I hope he will love it!
  • Have a daily deal voucher for Audrey to try a summer season of soccer with a company called Soccer Shots, she's very excited!
  • We have a family reunion for the Gibersons {my dad's side} of the family at the end of June.  It's here in AZ and I'm glad that I FINALLY get to go to one.  It's every 3 years and in '09 I was very pregnant with Owen and not able to go to TX for it, and in '06 I was...yep, pregnant with Audrey and not able to go to Washington, DC where it was held that year.
  • At the end of the summer Audrey will go to a week long summer camp called "Musical Production" that will focus on dancing, singing and acting.  We'll use this as a good trial as we're looking to put her in a musical theater class in the fall.
We also look forward to lots of fun playdates with friends we haven't seen much during the school year and also with new friends from school!
