At 18 months Owen:
- is finally starting to "talk" more. At least more attempting than just say "yeah" or "nuh-uh". He really tries to repeat what we're saying. I'm sure he'll be like Audrey. She was an early walker, late talker as well. But then it all came flying out!
- loves to point at things.
- is getting his incisor teeth now...I think that's the ones, you know the pointy "canine" teeth. He can be seen with his hand in his mouth a lot because of this.
- only gets his pacifier in his crib. Still can't believe Audrey has hers gone at 13 months, and here we are at 18 months and Owen still has it. Bad parents!
- takes 1 nap a day. Usually from 10-12, but depending on our schedule will go down in the afternoon if he misses a morning nap.
- loves music and dancing
- has discovered trains and LOVES them. He will watch a show called "Chuggington" and "Thomas the Train". He carries his little trains around all the time.
- enjoys being outside, he would always be out there if we let him!
- has developed his own "CHEESE!" face
- loves to do what we do, or at least try. There is nothing "babyish" about this kid except that he can't talk like us...yet.
- just started going to Nursery at church. Papa stayed with him while he woke up from nap, watched him play for a bit, then left. They said Owen cried for a couple minutes, then just needed a hug and then went on playing. That's very "Owen".
- had his first hospital stay for pneumonia & bronchitis in Feb. at 17 months old.
- reconnected with his love of splash pads when we went to one last week.
- wears size 18-24mon clothes and size 4 diapers still, but probably ready for size 5.
- occasionally still hits his head on the floor to show he's mad. Although now that we break out the ice pack every time he does it, which he doesn't like at all, maybe it will completely go away!
- is the cutest kid ever who still gives the best hugs, goes down for nap and bedtime easily, has a smile that melts your heart (even when he's doing something naughty), the funniest little laugh, and is a blessing in our lives!
