Since my last post on May 10th...

...we have been busy. We finished up Audrey's first semester of preschool at MorningStar Academy. I finished up my first semester of learning the ropes there at MSA. As I'm sure I mentioned, my friend Jamie is the director there. They opened last summer with Summer Fun Camp, so this was their first school year. It was wonderful to be a part of it! Audrey & I joined their family in January, and I look forward to being a part of it for many years to come. Although Audrey will only have 1 more year there because then she is off to Kindergarten. Hard to imagine that it's just over a year away! But then Owen will get to go there too, so that will be fun.

Paul turned 34 on May 27th! We were pretty low key and just had some yummy cupcakes! He just got another full-time job and started this past Monday, so it was a long (almost) 2 months. He really enjoyed being able to do a lot of work for Victory Electric, but it's just too sporadic for a family with 2 young kiddos and a Mama trying to stay home and just work preschool part time. He's excited about this new job as foreman, and we're hoping he has luck and can be there for longer than a year like his previous two jobs!

At the end of May my dad & brother Kyle made a trip from Lubbock, TX to attend my cousin Landi's wedding. They stayed a few extra days to hang out with the grandkids, of course. Unfortunately, their stay was even one day longer due to a Memorial Service for my stepmom's Aunt Chantal who lived in Sun City. She had been sick since December and it took her quickly, she was only 51. I attended the service too. Even though I'd only know her and her husband, Gary, for a few years we always got together around Christmas and went to the Botanical Gardens. Chantal loved the gardens. She has transformed her desert backyards into wonderful gardens of her own. She was always smiling and always working on various home improvement projects. I never saw her without a smile, or her camera. Here's a shot of her talking to baby Owen, and one of most of us this past Christmas at the Botanical Gardens. This was just when she found out she was sick. Her smile, love of the Earth, generosity of spirit, and genuine kindness will be missed.
