Baby, it's cold outside!

Well, it's happened. I finally told Paul it's time to turn the heater on last night. And just to be clear the "baby" is me. Audrey only wants to wear panties all day. She hates winter clothes! Every morning it's a battle to get long sleeved shirts and pants on. And a sweater or jacket, yeah right! At night we have her in footy pjs and she'll usually take those off a few times too. Luckily I still wake her once to go potty before I head to bed because I have found her in bed with no blankets and no pjs on! She rarely stays under covers, crazy girl! Paul is the same way, barely putting the covers on and he still gets sweaty when he first goes to sleep. On the other hand, I have to wear socks to bed in the winter or I will freeze to death! I can't handle it. I pull the covers on immediately and get myself into a good ball position to keep warm. Usually I can also be found in a sleeping in a sweatshirt or jacket, or at least put one on as soon as wake up. Gee, I wonder why NAU & I didn't mesh? But last night with the heater...awww, heaven! I even took the covers off and felt comfortable and I woke up this morning comfortable too, not hot or cold!

Now that we're moving on to Christmas Audrey's newest words are "Christmas tree" and "Christmas lights". We just put all our Christmas stuff up Saturday. She is in love with the Santa driving the 48 NASCAR with Elves as pit crew that is blown up on our front lawn (yes, Paul's decor choice). She goes out and gives him high 5's. She also put on her holiday dress to help us put up the tree. She calls it "Cinderella". When we put it on for pictures last month, she was so excited and started twirling around saying "Cinewella, Cinewella". This was amazing to me because, guess what...she doesn't like to wear dresses either! It's usually a fight, but she loved this one and asks to wear "Cinderella" every few days.
Audrey made this triangle out of garland and was jumping in and out of it.

Actually smiling for a picture, for Papa of course!

Helping with the tree.

Saturday evening we hosted a Polar Express party for Audrey's Girly Girlz group. They came in their favorite/holiday pjs, we ate dinner and did projects--made snowflakes & an "I Believe" charm pin. Then we put the movie on (forgoing trying to settle 8 2 yr olds down to try and read that book aloud) and enjoyed cookies. We had a "first gift of Christmas" book exchange. The present Audrey picked to open was A Very Marley Christmas by John Grogan. So cute! (I have Marley & Me on my to-read list before the movie comes out on Christmas.) I also gave the Girlz a jar of homemade cocoa mix with a silver bell tied around it to take home. So maybe the Girlz won't remember it, but the moms will remember how cute they were and how special it was.

Audrey was the only only one left watching the movie at this point, and she's asked "I wanna watch train" Sunday and today too. She discovered it a month or so ago in the cabinet and asked to watch it because it had a train on the front. It broke Paul's rule of no Christmas stuff until December, but the first time she watched it she watched the whole thing! Amazing! When she's old enough to really get it, we hope to take her on the Polar Express ride that the Grand Canyon Railway does every year.

Well, I have purchased exactly 1 Christmas gift so far and it was online. We got Audrey a Fisher-Price My First Dollhouse. It is waiting for me at the store to pick it up. I also ordered Christmas cards just this past weekend and won't get them until next week. Hope you're ahead of me!
