Audrey & I flew home from Lubbock on Sept. 23rd. Kyle is doing really well. They've ruled out a lot of serious illnesses which is great, but they still haven't found out why the stroke happened. He did half days of school for three days and then went back full time. He even got back into his after school activities like Boy Scouts, Robotics and Tennis. The day after we left he was playing in a Tennis challenge match and had his first tournament that weekend. We were sad to miss those, but we enjoyed our time there. The weather was so great we took walks almost every day, most days walking with Kyle to or from school. Audrey really enjoyed hanging out with Kyle, though I'm not sure he really got used to having her follow him around all the time! A favorite activity had to be playing the therapy recommended Wii that Kyle got while we were there. What an excuse to get a Wii! Below is a little video of Audrey playing Wii Tennis with Grandpa & Uncle Kyle. Her controller was not hooked up, but she didn't know any better.
While in Texas Audrey discovered snails. I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of that! We had to say "Morning" to the snails when we first woke up. We had to go check on them at least 3 times during the day and say "Night, Snails" to them at least two times in the evening. If you would take Audrey outside to go see the snails, you were her best friend. And if you wouldn't, well she'd cry and pout until someone fell for it! Apparently, we need some snails. Here are some pictures from our visit:
By looking at Audrey's face in this picture (left) you wouldn't think that she did this to herself. She ran into the bathroom where I was getting ready and said "Oh No!". She thought it was lotion, but the minty smell told me otherwise. Of course this was like 5 minutes before we were to start walking to go pick up Kyle at school. So, we did a quick rinse in the tub and change of clothes and off we went. She smelled like Colgate the whole way there!
She fell in love with "Finding Nemo" and I snapped this "cheese" face (right) while she was watching it one afternoon. When she discovered Nemo she took a nap for the first time in days! Thanks, Nemo!
We of course had to take a trip down to Grandpa's alma mater and see the campus where Dr. Giberson teaches his Energy Economics classes and to pick up some Tech gear. We got some fun pictures there.

Check out the Red Raider, ready for game day!
Look who else is ready for game day,
future Lady Red Raider???
What big fun we had in Texas! ;o)
When we got home we also had some fun waiting for us. We went to a playdate at Bounce U, a free grand opening for another bounce place called Bounce Jungle, and a Nemo themed playdate where Audrey got to show her new found love of Nemo!
On October 1st our moms' group went on a tour of a Papa John's store. The kids got to meet Mr. Slice, though none of them would go near him. Most of the
kiddos were actually trying to hide from him. They got to touch and pull pizza dough, see the big oven and make their very own personal size pizza. When the manager asked Audrey if she liked pizza she jumped up and down like a maniac! That was a good show because Audrey doesn't eat pizza!
She just wanted to stand on the chair and make her own, she kept trying to climb on the chair while the other kids were making theirs. She made a cheese and olive pizza. When they were done, the kids got a "Lil' Papa Pizza Maker" diploma. The manager and workers there were so great with the kids, even though all 10 kiddos were under 5 years old. Here's a super short video of Audrey making pizza.
Audrey asked about her pizza all the way home and was so excited to sit down at eat it. First she picked off and ate all the olives, and then she surprised me when she actually started taking bites! She ate almost half of it which is probably the most pizza she's ever eaten in her life. I doubt this means she'll eat it again, I think she was just so proud that it was hers.
We have some really fun things going on in the next week..tonight we're going to Playhouse Disney Live on Tour, Sunday we are doing City of Hope's Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer for the second year in a row, then we have a Curious George playdate at our house, a tour of a Gilbert firehouse and a visit to the new Phoenix Children's Museum that opened in June....so lots more pictures to come next week!
