At 1 year Owen:
  • is an expert walker!
  • has started running.
  • still loves to climb and scares me daily. He started to climb the shelves at the store the other day because I just ran in to grab something and didn't need a cart or stroller. Big mistake!
  • loves turning himself in circles, it's soooo funny!
  • loves swimming!

  • has fun giving high 5's, just ask him.
  • got 2 more teeth, so now has 4 on top and 2 on bottom.
  • shakes his head "No" when you say his name in a firm voice. He knows he's doing something wrong. Yet he doesn't stop doing it, he continues to do it while shaking his head no and giving you the BIGGEST smile.
  • has started making big messes with his toys and books. He's in the stage of get everything off the shelf. So now we're starting the clean up training. ;o)
  • loves socks and shoes. Leave some out and he's sure to try to put on the shoes, and he'll carry the socks around like little friends.

  • still loves to laugh, smile, and is still the best little snuggler! He gives awesome hugs.
  • wears 12-18 month clothes and size 4 diapers.
  • got a new car seat for his birthday, no more flower pattern for our little boy! Now that he meets all the requirements for forward facing, we traded in our infant carrier at Babies R Us and got 25% off a new one. He has the same car seat as Audrey (different color of course), so this will be the last car seat he ever uses because it converts all the way to a booster.

Everyone always comments on what a happy little guy Owen is. And it's really true. He just smiles instantly and everyone wants to smile right back at him. He is such a ham, too! If you laugh at something he does he remembers it and will do it over and over again, just to make you laugh. He gets sooo proud of himself. This guy didn't even cry a peep when he got his 2 shots at his well check. What??? They sure do make kids tough these days. But I started to think about it, and it probably isn't a coincidence. I believe special kids are being born today, they have to be in today's world. I hope to have many more years watching Owen continue to grow as my lovable, snuggly, little tough guy!
