Monthly Update

Well, it looks like I've been only getting one post a month...which makes it long I know (sorry)...so here's what we've been up to since I last updated at the beginning of June.

After our Parent-Tot swimming class we enrolled Audrey in the next level which was called Tadpoles. It was just the teacher and 3 kiddos. I was so nervous and made Paul come with me the first time, but she did GREAT! She loved it! She doesn't turn 3 in time to go up to the next level, so we figured we'd just wait till next year to get back into lessons. We've been swimming since then and she loves to jump in and now she will swim underwater to you. She still needs to work on using her arms well, but she's getting it. Here's a picture with her first swimming report card, before it was just a certificate of participation...how grown up!

I started working again and did MWF through mo
st of June. I worked with the same age I did in the school year, 3 & 4 yr olds, and there were only a few new kids. Audrey was in my class even though she's not 3 yet, but since she's potty trained. It was amazing to see how little she still is compared to the others in the class, she was the youngest by about 5 or 6 months. It was a definite difference. Plus, she's been acting "younger" the bigger I get. She's very clingy and she's never really been like that. We had a very big melt down one day and that is when I decided I cannot be Audrey's teacher. Not at this age anyway. So, for the days I've been working in July she's been in the younger class and it's been fine. Except when I drop her off she's been crying, refusing to go in, throwing a fit. Unreal...since this is the kid who for 2.5 years had only been watched by her parents or other close family and when I took her for her first week of preschool in December she pretty much just said "See ya later Mama!"
I should mention that during our "Farm" week at school we had a petting zoo come and Audrey held the bunnies the WHOLE time, about 30 minutes, and through a big fit (just for my benefit of course) when we had to leave them.

We had a playdate at our house with our Girly Girlfriendz for Fairy Day and they were so cute. We watched "Tinker Bell", ate mini muffins, mini scones and fruit, and make a few crafts. Here are a couple of pictures. (She just recently discovered that Tinker Bell is in "Peter Pan" too, so she picked that movie to watch the other day, which she's never seen before. Even though I tried to tell her and I showed her the cover, but it's all about doing things yourself when you're almost 3.)

For July 4th Paul invited our families over so he could grill up food on the grill he got for Father's Day this year. He was so excited and bought way too much food, but it's ok. He did the most house cleaning he's ever done! It was nice, especially since I've just been feeling huge and tired. After dinner, Paul (my brother), Randee & Jay headed over to Chandler to watch some fireworks with us. Or as Audrey called them this year, "Firepops".

We started painting Owen's room yesterday and hope to have it all finished by the end of the week. The colors we're using are called Herbal Garden, Mocchiato and Pine Cone. Audrey's new bed & dresser should also arrive this week which means we can put the rail back on the crib and move the "baby" furniture over too. So, my plan to have the rooms all ready by Audrey's 3rd birthday looks to be right on track. Yeah, did you catch that??? Audrey will be 3 in a couple weeks on the 29th! WOW! I'll of course post pictures of the new rooms and Audrey's party when I have them.

In other baby news, I failed my 1 hr glucose test a couple weeks ago and spent yesterday morning in the dr's office doing the 3 hr one. Hopefully I will pass and not have anything to worry about...besides all the normal stuff like how huge I am getting and how I seriously don't think I can carry this belly around for another 8 weeks! Audrey keeps telling me "Baby Owen is not ready yet, he needs to get bigger then go to doctor." I told her that when he is big and strong I will go to the dr and he will take the baby out. If it were so easy, sigh...

P.S. It's been between 110 -117 for the past week or so, and is continuing in the same trend this week with no end in sight, and I just got a cold. WHY??? It's miserable!

Ugh, the last weeks of pregnancy do seem to drag on, don't they? And the summer heat doesn't help. But you'll make it through just fine. Funny thing - my sister-in-law had her baby 2 days ago and named him Owen also!
